Gerhana penuh Bulan 2014

Pada 8 Oktober 2014 adalah Bulan purnama dan pada tarikh ini Bulan Purnama akan mengalami gerhana penuh. Gerhana Bulan kali ini bermula dari fasa penumbra diikuti fasa umbra sehingga seluruh Bulan memasukki umbra kemudian fasa penumbra dan akhirnya kembali semula seperti biasa. Sebahagian besar Bumi yang mengalami seluruh fasa-fasa gerhana Bulan kali ini ialah lokasi di lautan Pasifik.

Hasil Rukyah : Hilal TIDAK memenuhi kriteria Imkanur Rukyah. Oleh itu, Zulkaedah 1435H digenapkan menjadi 30 hari dan 1 Zulhijjah 1435H jatuh pada hari Jumaat, 26 September 2014M. Maka Hari Raya Aidil Adha (10 Zulhijjah 1435H) jatuh pada hari Ahad, 5 Oktober 2014M.

Peta bintang adalah alat yang boleh membantu kita mengenali objek-objek di langit malam. Peta bintang mengandungi bintang-bintang, buruj, planet, Bulan dan galaksi. Peta bintang lazimnya disediakan bagi sesuatu lokasi berdasarkan latitud di Bumi contohnya latitud 30⁰ Utara. Peta bintang juga disediakan mengikut tarikh atau Bulan tertentu seperti peta bintang Januari menunjukkan bintang, buruj, planet dan objek samawi lain bagi Januari . Tetapi ada juga peta bintang yang disediakan mengikut tarikh dan masa yang tertentu bagi lokasi yang tertentu.

Abu Abdullah Mohammad Ibn Musa al-Khawarizmi, known as Father of Algebra, was born at Khawarizm (Kheva), south of Aral Sea, Uzbekistan.Al Khawarizmi was a great Muslim mathematician, astronomer and geographer.His development of astronomical tables was a significant contribution to the field of astronomy, on which he also wrote a book.The contribution of Khawarizmi to geography is also worth mentioning, in that not only did he revise Ptolemy's views on geography, but also corrected them in detail as well as his map of the world.Other contributions include original work related to clocks, sundials and astrolabes.
